Yesterday, we had to run to one of Mommy's listings to tend to a home that won't sell in this unbelievable market. The owner had installed a security system to prevent his twins from running out onto the busy road. While mommy was checking the house's condition, Emmett decided to run up to the bright, blue lights on the security system. After pressing one button too many times, next thing you know the alarm goes off!
To say the alarm was loud is putting it mildly. The sound was so deafening that we had to run out of the house. I am trying everything in my power to shut the *#!?)@! off and was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, I am calling my client in San Diego in a panic as I don't have the code to turn it off. Oh fun. My client in San Diego is not picking up and Emmett is standing outside asking, "mommy, what happened?" So Emmett goes into the truck while Mommy is running around the house trying to find the instruction manual in a vacant house.
Eventually, the alarm turns off by some act of god as I never retrieved the code. Even better is that no officers arrived to check on the status of the home. I guess our hard paying tax dollars are not enough compensation for any sort of follow up. The good news is that it wasn't a break-in, but simply a two year old who needs to get his hands into anything and everything in site. 'Oi vay--please get this house sold!
