Giddy Up 'Lil Cowboy

Emmett rides Jasper with his first teacher friend, Nanny.

Last time he did this, I think he was half the size.

The Arnold kids are excited!

Emmett displaying his crane pose from The Karate Kid.

Such a lil ham.

First Day of School

Now I get one hour exclusively with Emmett before we pick up Anya from Nanny's. Having this time to go to the park, take a walk or grab a hot chocolate is cherished. I have missed time with my sweet boy. He loves mommy all to himself, too.

I just look at this photo and think 'wow, really? when did he get SO big?'

Big brother is taking his role seriously these days and loves showing his sister how to be a good student/friend at school.

Boys Boys Boys

A visit to our famous troll under the Fremont Bridge.

Our Spiderman Flower in full effect.

The infamous "Gum Wall" at Pike Place Market. Yes, we left our mark.

Hangin' on the pig in front of the famous fish stall that throws the catch of the day.

We made a daily fort because that's what kids love to do.

The boys pretending they're on a date.

What happens to boys after cotton candy.

We made it all the way down to first row with no problems. The upside to a losing team.

Baby Dominic being pushed at the zoo. Stroller took a beating that day.

We were inseparable for 6 days. There was so much action I needed a vacation when it was all over. I found myself laughing constantly throughout the day and realized why I love boys. THEY ARE SO MUCH FUN!

Zest for Life

We've talked many times about how we wish we could bottle up Emmett's energy and sell it. Hypothetically speaking, let's say we do.

Take Jodi's marketing kahunas, Justin's financial savvy and then throw in Anya's cute, charismatic sales self and we're retiring 10 times faster than Steve Jobs said iQuit (can you believe he just resigned?!). We would also go down as the world's first gazillionaires. Emmett, our son, we love you and don't go a changin'.

Cousin Penn

What a happy, content and o-so loved baby boy. Meeting our nephew/cousin for the first time was the highlight of the trip!

The facial expressions here simply crack me up.

The girls.

The boys with our sweetest/cutest/newest member of the Arnold clan. Welcome, Penn Nevin!

Cousin Dominic

The boys just before our float down the Bitterroot River. SO MUCH FUN!!!

We launched our rafts from Angler's Roost. We will make this an annual thing for sure.

The first Bourne Lane Theater production. Both took their roles quite seriously with a much deserved standing ovation.

Boys love playing in the back of the truck. Neighbor boy, Reece, joins 'em.

Cousins forever and so much fun making memories in MT!

They have so much fun together and Emmett really looks up to his big cuz. I'm impressed they can hang out as long as they do being five years a part.

For a good laugh...or two...

Five Years Old

Here are some of our favorite pics from our boy's surprise Spiderman party. We've learned the celebration plans need to be less known in order for him to sleep well a week prior. The morning of the Solstice Parade we secretly turned our house into a Spiderman Extravaganza, which he absolutely loved.

He cried to me that night and when I asked him why he said, "you and daddy did so much for me." So sweet and I'm happy he feels how much we love him. Happy 5th buddy!

Stats for our growing boy!

Five year check up: head is no longer measured. Blood pressure normal. Vision checked and all is 20/20 with those big, beautiful eyes.

Height/Length: 45.5 inches
Weight: 51 whopping pounds (hardy just like we want it)

"He's doing great" says Dr. Munson and we're grateful for a happy, healthy, zestful little boy.

Yoga Camp at 8 Limbs Studios

The light in me sees the light in you.

Mountain Pose. Strong, Brave, Still.

Warrior One.

Yoga Rules...number 5 is my favorite...Come into Stillness.

Their final performance that was incredibly adorable. They even wore masks and told a story through poses.

Tree Pose. Strong, Safe, Beautiful.

Misty

This morning we had our usual routine and frankly, we were happy to be in it after two big trips to MO and MT. When deciding what to do today, I looked outside and said, "well, it's kind of misting right now." Then Emmett followed up with, "mommy, I wish I could bring Misty back from the dead for you."

Awww, I loved that dog SO MUCH and now my son wants me to have her again. It was a great opportunity for us to talk about her spirit and how she is really happy. He said, "oh, I know where she is...she's in heaven." I told him some like to think of it that way and I consider it a place with lots of white light and love.

Emmett finished the conversation with, "mommy, she's in heaven. I'm in heaven." :-)

BIG SMILE on my face.

Lake Chelan, Part 2

We spent one glorious night at Lake Chelan Winery. 80s and sunny!

Emmett felt inspired and peaceful with the sunset that night. It is kind of hard to see, but he sat down just before the vineyards and put his hands together for "namaste". An indelible memory that makes my heart smile.

Hands in the air and then back at the heart center.

Love. Joy. Freedom.
